through yoga asana and other exercises

  5. important peculiarities of selected muscles

  6. the roles muscles play (i.e., agonist, antagonist, neutralizer,
    stabilizer, support muscle)

  7. an introduction to assessment, including postural analysis,
active and passive range of motion testing

Prerequisites: Part I (The Skeletal System)

Required Book:  The Muscular System Manual, 3rd Edition,
by Joseph Muscolino

Notes on Part 1 (Skeletal System) and Part II (Muscular System

  1. Parts I & II are academic in nature... it'll feel like you're in college
as there are reading assignments, quizzes and a final exam. But
don’t stress... the in-class quizzes and final exam are drawn from
    questions on the take-home tests.

  2. Occasional reference will be made between the material being
studied and it’s relevance to yoga asana practice; however, no
prior knowledge of yoga is required as all references to yoga will
be clearly explained, and inferences can easily be extrapolated to
    other movement/fitness modalities

  3. Furthermore, the main goal of Part I & II is to learn the bones and
muscles and acquire confidence in your knowledge of
    musculoskeletal anatomy.
